Minecraft Scallywag Search ☠️
Hunt down any buccaneer by handle — partial matches included, arr!
How the indexed sailor hunt works
Search cached Java and Bedrock sailors by name prefix. Results keep UUID and XUID treasure apart, mark the matching name and sail to the full profile.
Board complete example profiles
Spy a known Java profile for IDs, textures, capes and history before chartin' the wider index.
Scallywag Search — Tales from the Tavern (FAQ)
How does the Minecraft scallywag search work, ye ask?
Type at least 2 letters of a Minecraft handle. The hunt checks our ledger of 51 million+ stashed dossiers — first names that start with yer query (prefix matches), then names that contain it (substring matches). Results appear faster than a cannonball, with the matchin' bits highlighted.
Can I search for partial handles, captain?
Aye! This hunt supports substring matchin' — type "Craig" to find "MrCraigTunstall", or "craft" to find "Hermitcraft". Prefix matches (names startin' with yer query) sail in first, followed by substring matches.
Does it work for Bedrock / Xbox buccaneers?
Aye! The hunt covers both Java Edition an' Bedrock Edition dossiers. Results show a badge tellin' ye the edition. Click any result to view the full dossier with UUID, XUID, skin, cape, an' name ledger.
Be there a search API I can plunder?
Aye! Use GET /minecraft-api?suggest={query}&limit=25 to fetch matchin' scallywag names as JSON. The API returns prefix matches first, then substring matches. Responses be cached fer 5 minutes. See the API charts fer details.
How many results does the hunt return?
The dedicated search page shows up to 25 matchin' scallywags at once. The autocomplete on the main lookup page shows up to 10. Through the API, ye can request up to 50 with the limit parameter.
What treasure can I see fer each buccaneer?
Click any search result to view the full dossier: UUID (Java), XUID (Bedrock), Floodgate UUID, current skin with 3D viewer, cape, name ledger with dates, an' links to download the skin or view on NameMC.
Why can't I find a particular scallywag?
The hunt only checks stashed dossiers. If a buccaneer has never been looked up afore, they may not appear in search results. Type their exact handle an' press Enter fer a direct lookup — they'll be added to the ledger fer future hunts.
Be the search case-sensitive, captain?
Nay! Minecraft handles ain't case-sensitive, an' neither is this hunt. Type "notch", "Notch", or "NOTCH" — all return the same results, savvy?
