How do I preview a skin in 3D?
The selected player's 3D model loads automatically. Drag the model to turn it, use the zoom controls, and choose Walk or Stand. Selecting a featured skin updates this viewer without leaving the page.
How do I download the original skin PNG?
Select a player and edition, then choose Download PNG. The file is the original cached texture, including its transparency and layout. The 3D preview is a way to inspect it; it does not change the download.
Are Java and Bedrock skins kept separate?
Yes. Choose the edition beside the player lookup. Matching names can belong to different people, so check the complete profile and its Java UUID or Bedrock XUID before using a texture.
Why might a skin or 3D model be unavailable?
A profile may have no cached skin for the selected edition, or a texture provider may be temporarily unavailable. If your browser cannot run 3D, a static preview is shown when the texture is available. Try another edition or retry the lookup.
What dimensions are skin downloads?
Downloads preserve the source PNG dimensions. Many modern skins are 64×64, older Java skins may be 64×32, and some Bedrock textures use larger dimensions. Keep the original file for the game or your renderer.
Is a download or API key required?
Browsing, previewing, and downloading skins is free. You do not need an account or API key to use the public lookup. Public API requests are subject to rate limits.
How do I get a skin URL from the API?
Request /minecraft-api?username=Notch and read java.skin_url or bedrock.skin_url. Check that the selected edition and skin URL are present before requesting the image.
