Private Windows preview
League Companion
Keep the draft, matchup and saved build plan clear beside League. The app reads local Riot interfaces, never controls the game, and encrypts account history locally for your current Windows account.

What to do if SmartScreen appears
Do not switch off SmartScreen. Check the download source and the complete SHA-256 value before deciding whether to open this invited preview.
Source: Microsoft SmartScreen reputation guidanceUnsigned invited preview
No Authenticode publisher signature is attached. Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” because this exact file and publisher do not have established reputation.
File and publisher reputation
A warning means Windows does not have enough positive reputation for the downloaded file or its signer. It is not proof that the file is safe, and it is not by itself proof that the file is malicious.
Exact release bytes
A matching SHA-256 confirms that your file is byte-for-byte the release recorded by VRC.LOL. It does not replace a publisher signature or malware protection.
Publisher identity
This preview does not yet include one. That is why the page labels it unsigned instead of presenting the checksum as publisher verification.
Make three checks

Security model in plain English
League and the Companion communicate locally
127.0.0.1 is your own computer. League exposes local HTTPS interfaces; the Companion reads them and turns the response into a clearer display on your Windows computer. It does not open your League client to the public internet.

Inside the Windows app
Draft, build and review without losing the match context
Each view answers one immediate question. Champion select shows who is where, the saved plan shows what was prepared before play, and history stays available after the client closes.
See both teams by lane
Confirmed picks, hovers and bans remain distinct. Unusual player-selected lanes are labelled without pretending they are standard or impossible.
Keep the purchase order visible
Queue-aware starting items and completed-item steps are saved from the draft. Live score, gold and opponent performance never reorder them.

Keep a private match review
Eligible non-custom matches are separated by Riot account and encrypted for the current Windows user.
Raw points, not out of 10 or 100.
Vision score measures vision contribution. Wards placed counts how many wards you placed.
From startup to review
The screen changes when the League client changes
The Companion identifies the current client phase and keeps unrelated controls out of the way. Advice prepared before play remains fixed once the match begins.

- 6SpectatingDelayed match viewDelayed
Marks spectator data and inferred roles clearly, and never records the match as your history.
Keyboard control
Reach the right view without hunting through the window
Every combination can be changed, reset or disabled. The defaults use physical key positions, so they remain dependable on non-English keyboard layouts.
One companion, four clear stages
Keep the useful part of League in view
The interface changes with the client state, then stops changing advice once play begins. You remain in control of every decision.
Read the draft
See assigned lanes, confirmed bans, unusual picks and the Bot-lane pair without guessing what “Bot” means.
Save one plan
Review the matchup, opening purchases, completed items and player-selected alternatives before the match starts.
Item count does not prove the build is complete. The Companion never chooses a replacement for you.
Keep it beside League
Use the optional compact overlay on another display or above a Borderless/Windowed client. It never controls League.
Review privately
Completed non-custom matches are saved locally for each Riot account until you clear them. Switching accounts switches this history.
Recover recent matches
Recover missed matches between games

Riot timeline
Ward and shop times require recorded timeline events. Final totals cannot recreate those timestamps.
Team structure timeline
Recorded tower and inhibitor takedowns show their match time, lane and known tower tier. Team takedowns are separate from your personal actions; respawns can produce another event.
Recorded map positions
Recorded positions are retained for Rift, ARAM and League Classic when available.
Maps need recorded positions and verified artwork alignment.
Numbers may move to prevent overlap. Lines connect them to recorded positions.
Team scores require a complete Riot timeline matching both final kill totals.
Up to one encrypted snapshot per minute is retained, capped at 90 samples. Open Riot's replay for movement between samples.

What the preview needs
The Companion is a native Windows application. It is not a browser extension and it does not need a Riot production API key on the tester's PC.
Windows 10 or 11
64-bit Windows is required. The release record names the exact supported platform.
League installed locally
Open the Riot and League clients normally. Detection updates as the local client changes state.
One monitor is enough
Choose any detected display. A second monitor is useful, while the compact overlay supports Borderless or Windowed play.
HTTPS release checks
Startup verifies the guarded release channel. Local client credentials and private match history are not uploaded.
File identity
Check before opening
The checksum must match every character. A different hash means it is not this recorded build.

Local, visible and deliberately limited
The preview follows a static plan prepared from champion select. It never plays League for you.
Local detection
Reads Riot's local client, Live Client, and delayed spectator interfaces through loopback addresses on your Windows computer. Local credentials are never uploaded.
Private match review
Keeps up to 20 recent non-custom matches across game patches in separate, Windows-encrypted histories for each Riot account.
Static-plan overlay
An optional compact window keeps pre-game choices visible. Live performance never selects or reorders advice.
No game control
No injection, memory reading, automated picks, bans, pings, purchases, movement, chat, or abilities.
Honest spectator mode
Delayed rosters are labelled as spectator data. Missing lane assignments remain clearly marked as inferred.
No bundled secrets
No Riot API key, Discord bot token, server password, or private stream token is included in the executable.
Between-match reminders
Optional water, movement, meal and personal-routine prompts stay on this device. Anything due during play waits until the match has ended; several due checks are assembled locally and played as one complete recording.
Open the routine plannerFeature status, not a competitor checklist
Every capability must match this product's Riot record
Features advertised by another League app show what may be possible for that audited product. They do not grant VRC.LOL the same scope automatically.
Available now
Local account and client-state recognition, visible champion select, queue-aware static builds, skill references, a fixed in-game overlay, factual player-visible match state and private post-match review.
Proposed for Riot audit
An opt-in Preview, Confirm and Apply flow for runes and summoner spells during champion select only. The player would see every change and active play would disable it.
Not claimed yet
Tier-average comparisons, live gold-difference analysis and live item-problem detection are not current Companion features. Their data source, user flow and integrity boundary would need separate review.
Intentionally excluded
No enemy ultimate or spell cooldown tracker, hidden-player resolution, automatic live purchase selection, win chance, unofficial MMR, game actions or instructions generated from changing live performance.
Current build remains read-only. A proposed feature is not silently enabled, described as available, or treated as approved before the product record and implementation agree.
Setup and updates
Keep your setup or begin again
Updates verify the replacement first, then let you preserve local preferences or rerun welcome setup. Window recovery is always available separately.
- 1Keep my settingsThe recommended update choice preserves scale, theme, favourites, shortcuts, overlay and reminders.
- 2Start freshWelcome setup runs again. Encrypted account-separated match history is deliberately kept.
- 3Start fresh + recover windowRuns welcome setup and safely resets placement on every startup until disabled. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Home remains available.
Tester recovery
If the preview will not open
The existing executable remains untouched whenever an update cannot be downloaded or verified.
- 1Check the connection
Open this page in a browser. If it loads, retry the app once.
- 2Verify the file
Run the PowerShell command above and compare the complete SHA-256 value.
- 3Copy the diagnostic summary
Open Window and interface, find Private testing, then select Copy diagnostics. Paste the copied text into the bug report; the app does not send it automatically.
Include enough context to reproduce it
- What you were doingFor example: champion select, switching Riot accounts, spectating, or opening History.
- What you expectedSay what should have appeared, moved, opened, or remained unchanged.
- Copied diagnosticsBuild, client phase, queue, map, role, patch and state flags help identify the correct code path.
- A focused screenshotCrop unrelated windows and hide names or chat when they are not needed to explain the layout problem.
Common questions
Before you test the Companion
Clear answers about access, local data, displays, Windows warnings and the update channel.
1Is the League Companion free?
Yes. The League Companion is free and is intended to remain free. There are no paid tiers, premium feature gates, advertisements, promotional pop-ups, or advertising and behavioural-tracking SDKs. Invitation codes only limit access to the current private test; they are not a purchase or subscription.
2Does the Companion control League of Legends?
No. It does not inject into the game, read process memory, automate actions, press keys, move the cursor, buy items, send chat, place pings, or choose champions.
3Can the Companion apply runes and summoner spells?
Not in the current invited build. VRC.LOL is preparing an opt-in champion-select flow that would preview a complete page, require the player to confirm it, and stop before active play. Because that changes the product from read-only to a limited League Client write, it will not be enabled until the feature is accurately disclosed for Riot audit.
4Why not copy every feature advertised by another League app?
Riot audits products and material feature changes individually. Another app advertising a feature does not transfer its approval, implementation details, or data permissions to VRC.LOL. The current build therefore includes only the behavior described for this product and excludes enemy cooldown tracking and automatic live coaching.
5Where does match history stay?
Eligible match reviews stay on the Windows PC and can span game patches. Histories are encrypted for the Windows account and separated by Riot account.
6Do I need a second monitor?
No. A second monitor is convenient, but optional. The Companion can use any detected display and includes a compact overlay for Borderless or Windowed League.
7Why can Windows SmartScreen show a warning?
The current preview is not Authenticode signed. Invited testers should download only from VRC.LOL and compare the complete SHA-256 checksum shown on this page.
8What happens when an update fails?
The existing executable is kept intact. A replacement is only applied after the guarded release channel, file size, and SHA-256 checksum have been verified.
9Can I keep my settings after an update?
Yes. Keep my settings is selected by default. Start fresh reruns welcome setup and resets preferences, while account-separated encrypted match history remains untouched.
10How do I recover a missing Companion window?
Use the notification-area menu or press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Home while the Companion is running. An optional setting can repeat safe primary-display placement on every startup until disabled.
11Does the app contain a Riot API key?
No. The executable contains no Riot API key, Discord bot token, server password, or private stream credential.
12What does “local” mean here?
The League and game clients expose HTTPS services on the loopback address 127.0.0.1. That address points back to the same PC. The Companion reads those local services; the League lockfile password is used only for authenticated loopback requests and is never sent to VRC.LOL or shown to the web interface.
13Can VRC.LOL guarantee Riot will never object to the Companion?
No third party can make that guarantee. Riot requires products using League Client interfaces to be registered and audited, and describes the League Client API as unsupported and subject to change. The preview is deliberately read-only, discloses its interfaces, avoids hidden information and automation, and remains a limited test while Riot review is pending.
14What is included in Copy diagnostics?
The copied summary contains the Companion build, League connection and phase, queue, mode, map, assigned role, patch, spectator and custom-game flags, local history count, stream-publishing state, and check time. It omits player names, Riot IDs, match details, file paths, access codes, and credentials.
Preview access
Private testing, direct from VRC.LOL
Invitation codes create short-lived, single-use downloads. Required updates verify size and SHA-256 before replacing the executable, then offer to keep the existing setup or start welcome setup again.
