What changed

These notes describe shipped product work. Planned and active work remains on the public roadmap.

A public sample map for community testing

Try the map without signing in. Invented match facts let everyone test the layout and controls without exposing a player's real game.

Website release
  1. 1The sample uses the VRC.LOL League theme, with objective totals, recorded structure references, a timeline and mobile map controls. Desktop and mobile checks passed at 390, 768 and 1440 pixels.
  2. 2Your actual feed remains private. Owner controls for selected accounts, signed-in accounts and public sharing are present but real-match sharing is disabled pending verified Riot feature review.
  3. 3Structure locations are approximate references. Exact artwork alignment, ARAM placement and updated translations remain under review. Please include your screen size and the affected control when reporting an issue.

Worlds Battle Pass source refresh and clearer deadlines

The reward page replaces the ended Act I track with Riot's Worlds 2026 article, and separates the XP deadline from the later purchase window.

Website release
  1. 1All 56 milestones show their free or paid requirement. Search and track filters keep the list readable on smaller screens.
  2. 2Your manually entered level is saved for this pass on this device. It does not read your Riot account, spend RP or carry progress over from another pass.
  3. 3A scheduled Go collector checks the current official article. Unexpected schedule or reward formatting preserves the last verified track and an overdue source check is visible.
  4. 4New passes still require source review before activation. Classic progression remains separate. Updated translations are pending and localized routes identify the English fallback.

Companion and private match map audit

Progress report: these checks describe the current audit, rather than a public Companion release.

In review
  1. 1The private map now connects through central VRC.LOL sign-in, with its own read permission and verified Companion ownership. Production checks passed for owner access and rejection of anonymous, unbound, missing-permission and revoked sessions. Continue with VRC.LOL from the map to connect its separate session; signed-in browser acceptance remains under review.
  2. 2The installed local test executable has clearer build-library controls and now opens a selected champion build at its heading. Same-reference repaints preserve your reading position. The Lillia Jungle navigation was checked in the native app, and all 133 saved files were unchanged during replacement. This is not a public Companion download release.
  3. 3Map number readability, event selection and responsive layouts have been tested. ARAM artwork alignment still needs verification; recorded coordinates are retained and are not moved to fit the picture.
  4. 4Current Riot item data has been checked against opening packs and replacement arithmetic. Historical recommendations remain labelled historical while champion, role and queue reviews continue.
  5. 5Native overlay checks, translation review and wider current-build coverage remain open. Riot-policy boundaries continue to exclude enemy tracking and automated gameplay.

Companion feature scope made explicit

The Companion, compliance, privacy and terms pages now separate current behavior, proposed Riot-audited changes and deliberately excluded live-tracking features.

Latest
  1. 1Current local recognition, visible draft information, static preparation and private match review remain clearly described as available.
  2. 2A Preview, Confirm and Apply rune or summoner-spell flow is documented as proposed and remains disabled while the submitted product is read-only.
  3. 3Enemy ultimate or spell cooldown tracking is explicitly excluded in line with Riot's published League game-integrity example.
  4. 4Competitor feature lists are identified as evidence of another product's behavior, not transferable permission for VRC.LOL.

Runes and rune pages, plainly explained

A colourful patch-aware beginner guide explains what runes change, where Riot presents them and how a complete primary, secondary and stat-shard page fits together.

Shipped
  1. 1The guide makes clear that individual current-system runes are free and that extra permanent page slots are saved-layout convenience rather than stronger power.
  2. 2A four-step page anatomy separates the primary path, keystone, secondary path and three smaller stat shards.
  3. 3All five current rune paths, keystones and minor rows are read from Riot Data Dragon and their icons use VRC.LOL's immutable local asset cache.
  4. 4The five path identities now use their real artwork, colour and a plain-language question so a beginner can start with the kind of help they need rather than a tier list.
  5. 5Recommended and custom pages are compared directly, with trigger types and six common rune terms explained without assuming prior League knowledge.
  6. 6Champion-select instructions explain Riot's temporary recommended page, custom-page limits on very new accounts and the pre-match lock-in boundary.
  7. 7The feature-parity boundary is explicit: established apps can apply runes before play, but VRC.LOL will not enable a League Client write until that changed product behavior is disclosed to Riot.
  8. 8All new interface phrases are included across every League language catalogue, while supported Riot locales load rune names and descriptions from their matching Data Dragon files.
  9. 9The page is included in the League directory, search, home guide list, public guide catalogue and SEO metadata.

Companion update choices and native window recovery

The required updater now lets testers preserve their setup or rerun welcome setup, while native recovery controls bring a hidden or off-screen Companion back without touching encrypted match history.

Shipped
  1. 1Every verified update offers Keep my settings, Start fresh, or Start fresh plus automatic window recovery.
  2. 2Start fresh clears interface preferences only. Account-separated encrypted match history remains available until the tester explicitly clears it from History.
  3. 3A fixed Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Home shortcut restores the Companion to the primary display, returns it to a normal full window and clears Ghost or click-through.
  4. 4The Windows notification-area menu provides Show Companion, Reset window and Exit even when the WebView is hidden or positioned outside the visible desktop.
  5. 5An optional Recover the window on every startup setting repeats the safe placement recovery until the tester disables it.
  6. 6The executable version, file size and SHA-256 shown on the Companion page now come from the same guarded release record used by the updater.

Clearer League navigation, matchups and policy records

League pages now use recognisable icons, calmer open layouts, clearer matchup colours and an explicit Production-review record so important guides and Riot-source context are easier to scan on desktop and mobile.

Shipped
  1. 1The League home directory replaces decorative numbering with meaningful icons across all 37 tools while retaining numbered steps only where order matters.
  2. 2The independent Void Resonance Discord page uses clearer destination and lane symbols, more varied accents and less solid card colour.
  3. 3The off-meta and alternate-account references have icon-led section directories with every destination visible without sideways scrolling.
  4. 4Off-meta source wording was reviewed again against Riot-owned pages on 11 August 2026, while Riot authority and VRC.LOL independence remain explicit.
  5. 5Off-meta, Chat and alternate-account copy actions now share one accessible two-line clipboard control and provide visible copied feedback.
  6. 6Chat, matchmaking, Recall and between-match references use descriptive symbols instead of decorative count badges where reading order is not required.
  7. 7Privacy, Terms and API safeguards now match the submitted Production application: public Riot-backed lookup and private evidence publication remain disabled while review is pending.
  8. 8The API safeguards page now exposes the registered product and App ID without exposing credentials or the private support request, and uses consistent icon-led controls instead of mixed decorative numbering.
  9. 9Matchup pages use neutral reading surfaces with distinct role, opponent, build and game-plan accents; the mobile champion artwork no longer clips the matchup title.
  10. 10Champion build pages now separate the opening, six-item route, build identity, rune trees, summoner spells and safety adjustments with meaningful gold, violet, green, rose and cyan accents instead of one blue treatment.
  11. 11The frozen VREvent player preview was refreshed on 11 August from the account owner's connected local League client; remakes under five minutes remain excluded and the page still makes no live-data claim.
  12. 12Player averages are now calculated from the completed matches currently displayed, preventing a stale snapshot summary from showing a false 0.00 KDA.
  13. 13The player page now bypasses browser HTML caches, uses Companion-reconciled recorded lanes for the frozen example and loads visible champion portraits from immutable patch assets before deferred item inventories.
  14. 14Better and harder champion matchup patterns now use compact outlined status markers with distinct icons instead of solid label blocks.
  15. 15Desktop and narrow mobile layouts were checked for clipping and horizontal overflow before release.

Clearer champion counter comparisons

Counter pages now combine readable pre-game comparisons with opponent context, lock-in checks, complete guide links and search-friendly answers.

Shipped
  1. 1Same-role and whole-team counter views keep their different meanings visible before the recommendations begin.
  2. 2Each option has a wider row for the reviewed interaction, broad power window and three-item build preview.
  3. 3Build previews are labelled as previews rather than complete purchase orders, with the exact matchup guide one clear action away.
  4. 4Counter search and guide actions now use the shared outlined command style across desktop and mobile.
  5. 5Champion overview links give newer players a separate place to learn the suggested pick before committing to it.
  6. 6Opponent class, reviewed roles and lane-specific planning context now sit beside every shortlist.
  7. 7A four-step lock-in check and champion-specific FAQ explain how to use counter options without presenting them as guaranteed wins.
  8. 8Expanded page metadata, FAQ schema and related-guide links improve search previews and route discovery.

Multilingual reminders and safer key verification

The invited Companion groups spoken reminders in the selected language, while private Riot-key replacement now continues safely after the Command Center closes.

Shipped
  1. 1Several due wellbeing reminders are spoken as one short sequence instead of overlapping or repeating the introduction.
  2. 2Reminder speech follows the selected Companion language and uses a matching local Windows voice when a bundled recording is unavailable; no reminder text is sent to an online speech service.
  3. 3The objective comparison now uses the six actual local Dragon icons for Infernal, Mountain, Ocean, Cloud, Hextech and Chemtech Drake.
  4. 4Classic or Draft, Swiftplay and ARAM states are normalised separately, while the expanded first-run setup covers display, defaults and optional wellbeing choices.
  5. 5Six local interface themes are available without changing the factual data or frozen pre-game recommendation boundary.
  6. 6The invited Windows build is now 0.9.9-live-rediscovery-preview. If League crashes during Ready Check or confirmation and is reopened before the game launches, the Companion now discovers the running match directly without needing its own restart.
  7. 7Abandoned queue, draft and match snapshots are cleared when neither the League client nor an active game is available, without recording a false match or triggering a break reminder.
  8. 8Champion-specific build shortcuts open the selected champion, lane and mode directly; the overlay retains clear Ghost, minimise, hide and full-app controls.
  9. 9Ten Windows-wide actions now have editable shortcuts: overlay mode, hide or show, minimise or restore, Ghost mode, Builds, Champions, Objectives, History, refresh and Settings.
  10. 10Keyboard shortcuts have their own settings tab with grouped actions, conflict-aware presets, custom key recording, individual reset controls and a disable option for every action.
  11. 11Minimise and hide are separate actions. Their native shortcuts continue to work while the Companion is on the taskbar or completely hidden.
  12. 12Minimise or restore uses Ctrl+Shift+Z by default. Plain Ctrl+Z remains available as a custom choice but is not assigned automatically because a Windows-wide binding would replace Undo in chat boxes and other applications.
  13. 13Draft or Ranked, Swiftplay, ARAM, Arena, custom games and rotating modes are described separately without applying a Summoner’s Rift build to an incompatible mode.
  14. 14The standalone Breaks window no longer reserves an invisible settings column, preventing the large left gap and clipped controls at higher UI scales.
  15. 15Ghost overlay mode applies adjustable Windows translucency while keeping the overlay interactive. A 60–95% visibility control and stronger image treatment keep champions and items legible.
  16. 16The compact overlay now follows the selected interface percentage exactly, and its native window expands with larger scales instead of squeezing enlarged text into the original frame.
  17. 17All six colour themes now reach the library, settings, draft, build, live and overlay surfaces. Larger UI scales remain readable without creating the overlay horizontal scrollbar.
  18. 18English and Pirate retain six selectable wellbeing voices; German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese use a bundled native-language voice.
  19. 19For each exact group of due checks, the Companion trims the bundled recordings, renders them once into one local sentence and plays that single cached recording. The localized connector no longer starts through a separate player.
  20. 20The exact recording begins assembling while the reminder window is being positioned, failed renders retry cleanly, and the in-memory combination cache stays bounded.
  21. 21The main audio preview now demonstrates a realistic three-check bundle through the same single-recording path used after matches; the shorter voice preview remains available for choosing a voice.
  22. 22A staged Riot development key is verified by a private server worker for up to 15 minutes, so the Command Center may be closed without cancelling verification.
  23. 23Account-v1 and Match-v5 must both accept the staged credential before the existing key is replaced; the secret is never printed or placed in a public response.

Team Play, pings and champion emotes

Two new communication guides explain useful team signals and cosmetic champion controls without turning either into rigid rules.

Shipped
  1. 1Team Play now separates preparation, useful in-match communication, muting and adapting, and conduct-focused post-match reporting.
  2. 2Ping guidance recognises that two or three quick signals can clarify urgency while repeated unchanged pings can become distracting.
  3. 3The Emotes guide covers Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+6 and the emote wheel with clearer, individually coloured control cards.
  4. 4Repeated jokes, taunts, dances and laughs are explained as cosmetic actions that remain acceptable when the player continues trying to win.
  5. 5Both guides use responsive outlined controls and have verified routes and phrase coverage across all supported League languages.
  6. 6A new install guide sends players directly to Riot’s official Windows or Mac download and separates Riot technical support from VRC.LOL community help.

Companion preferences and build routes

The Companion now opens the right champion build faster and gives local defaults a proper home.

Shipped
  1. 1A dedicated Setup tab can rerun the four-step welcome flow without hiding it under Champion settings.
  2. 2Choose one global favourite champion and optional favourites for Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot and Support.
  3. 3Champion build shortcuts now open the selected champion, lane and mode directly.
  4. 4Water, movement and longer-reset reminders can each use completed matches, elapsed time or Off.
  5. 5Champion build pages use readable role and queue slugs and land at the build section when modes change.

Item library and queue-aware champion builds

Items can be searched directly while champion pages keep Draft, Swiftplay and ARAM references separate.

Shipped
  1. 1The item-first build directory covers finished items, parts, boots, opening items and consumables.
  2. 2Every item detail page explains cost, recipe, follow-on items and queue availability.
  3. 3Champion pages switch between Draft or Ranked, Swiftplay and ARAM without blending their openings.

Rift learning references

The learning library gained clearer maps, objectives, status effects and beginner references.

Shipped
  1. 1Jungle routes compare starting sides, full clears, shorter clears and pressure paths.
  2. 2Objective pages cover dragons, Soul, Elder, Baron, Herald and Void Grubs with queue context.
  3. 3Status-effect, vision, ping, turret, inhibitor, minion, lane and Recall guides are linked from one shared directory.
