The person behind the champion

A story to start with

A traveler from beyond the stars, Bard is an agent of serendipity who fights to maintain a balance where life can endure the indifference of chaos. Many Runeterrans sing songs that ponder his extraordinary nature, yet they all agree that the cosmic vagabond is drawn to artifacts of great magical power. Surrounded by a jubilant choir of helpful spirit meeps, it is impossible to mistake his actions as malevolent, as Bard always serves the greater good... in his own odd way.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Bard's biography asks the reader to consider a scale larger than a local ruler's needs. His movement of powerful objects and attention to imbalance provide a purpose without turning the mystery into a complete mortal travel diary.

Identity, age and story connections.

Nature / form: Celestial being
Gender: Not confirmed; Not explicitly stated in the reviewed source
Pronouns: He / him; Pronouns in the official story
Age: Current age not confirmed; A celestial traveller; the source does not assign a mortal age.

About these details

Gender is recorded separately from the pronouns used in the official story, and only where the reviewed source explicitly describes the character. Unconfirmed does not mean genderless. Numeric ages refer to the published portrayal or the named story event, never a calculation from release dates or fan timelines. Forms, transformations and separate adaptations can change the context.

Legends and stories

This story is told through legends, uncertain origins or recurring encounters. Read these as different parts of the story, rather than a confirmed life history.

Classic champion artwork · Riot Games
A disturbance in the cosmic music
Bard experiences the celestial realm through a kind of cosmic music. Disruption draws this enigmatic traveller toward Runeterra, where powerful objects and mortal choices can disturb a much larger balance.
A caretaker moves between realms
Accompanied by meeps, he retrieves dangerous or misplaced magical things. Actions that seem strange at a human scale can belong to a purpose that spans several realms.
Following a disturbance across realms
Bard's interventions are understood through cosmic balance rather than a mortal campaign. Meeps accompany the collection and movement of powerful objects. The published story leaves much of that purpose mysterious, so a local appearance should not be treated as allegiance to its rulers.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
