The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Renowned as its finest peacekeeper, Caitlyn Kiramman is also Piltover's best shot at ridding the city of its elusive criminal elements. She is often paired with Vi, acting as a cool counterpoint to her partner's more impetuous nature. Even though she carries a one-of-a-kind hextech rifle, Caitlyn's most powerful weapon is her superior intellect, allowing her to lay elaborate traps for any lawbreakers foolish enough to operate in the City of Progress.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Investigation requires Caitlyn to look beneath the security offered by her own upbringing. Vi's experience adds knowledge that privilege cannot supply, making their partnership useful precisely because protecting a city is different from trusting its appearance.

The Kiramman family becomes a target
Crime became a personal matter when it threatened the Kiramman family. Investigating hidden networks drew her toward law enforcement rather than simply inheriting a comfortable place in her parents' world.

Following the network beyond one crime
Caitlyn's investigations lead beyond individual offenders toward the people whose influence keeps them protected. Vi brings experience that privilege could not teach her. Their partnership makes protecting Piltover a question of understanding its hidden systems as well as catching a visible criminal.

What makes this place matter?

Trade brings wealth and invention to Piltover, but access to opportunity is uneven. Its polished architecture makes more sense alongside Zaun's workshops and hazardous streets. Read both cities together to understand why progress can be a promise for one person and a burden for another.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
