Arrr, The person behind the champion

Arrr, A story to start with

Arrr, A demonic amalgamation drawn from the nightmares that haunt every sentient mind, the thing known as Nocturne has become a primordial force of pure evil. It is liquidly chaotic in aspect, a faceless shadow with cold eyes and armed with wicked-looking blades. After freeing itself from the spirit realm, Nocturne descended upon the waking world, to feed upon the kind of terror that can only thrive in true darkness.

Arrr, Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

Arrr, What shapes their story?

Arrr, A nightmare gives Nocturne an encounter shaped by another person's fear. The move toward the waking world makes that private vulnerability a wider threat, while the uncertain origins remain more appropriate to horror than a settled human chronology.

Arrr, Fear within the reach of shadow magic
Arrr, Nocturne emerged from the dangerous relationship between shadow magic and mortal fear. Nightmares gave an ancient horror access to experiences that seemed private and unreachable in waking life.
Arrr, Nightmare crosses into the waking world
Arrr, Finding a path into the material world made that terror physical. Darkness and sleep become vulnerable boundaries rather than reliable shelter from something that feeds on the mind's own fears.
Arrr, A nightmare finds a waking victim
Arrr, Moving beyond dreams gives Nocturne another route to the fear it consumes. The shadow magic associated with its emergence supplies context rather than a record of every summoner or victim. The boundary between private sleep and public danger is central to the horror of its account.

Arrr, Where the stories come from

Arrr, What the pictures show

Arrr, Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
