Five jobs, one sea chart
Yer course tells ye where to begin, nay where ye must stay forever.
Handle th' next aboard seaworthy wave, communicate movement and use th' role's income correctly. A roam be useful only when th' course can afford it.

Assigned position versus sea chart movement
Ye may swap lanes, but th' battle still remembers yer assignment
An agreed position trade be allowed. In Draft or Ranked, make that trade during champion pick whenever possible so th' true to course role quest follows each sailor.
Walking into another course be nay an sailor record punishment by itself. Th' practical penalties be in-battle economy and quest penalties, plus th' damage an unplanned swap can do to a teammate's course.
Riot assigns th' role quest from th' position recorded in champion pick. Use th' position-swap flow afore loading so both sailors receive th' intended quest.
Top, Mid and Bot receive reduced minion doubloons and experience outside their assigned course until level 3. Support also receives reduced early minion and support-gear income outside Bot.
Course minions, plates, turrets and passive progress favour th' recorded course. A later roam or wave assignment be normal, but it does nay rewrite th' quest.
Do nay take another sailor's course or income agin' their wishes, abandon yer responsibility, or use a “swap” as cover fer sabotage. Riot has th' final say on sailor conduct.
This be normal play, nay a course swap. Mid can attempt th' kill, lend a hand break a freeze or cover briefly. Inspect th' Mid wave first aboard so th' move does nay surrender more booty than it can gain.
Arrr, support can establish vision or create pressure while Bot can farm safely. World Atlas and early Support income still favour Bot, so this should be a timed roam rather than an unexplained abandonment.
Any role may temporarily defend a turret or catch an otherwise unclaimed wave. That does nay permanently change th' assigned role or its quest.
Arrr, starting responsibilities
Arrr, what each role should protect
Champion kits can change th' method. Th' resource responsibility remains th' useful starting point.
Top
Collect solo experience, manage th' long course and track when th' opposing Top can leave.
Do nay abandon several waves to force a low-percentage roam.
Jungle
Clear th' deck camps efficiently, track th' opposing Jungler and move where nigh th' ship lanes can support th' play.
Do nay force a river prize when both adjacent lanes be trapped under turret.
Mid
Control th' short course, clear th' deck afore moving and keep both river entrances visible.
Do nay disappear into fog while a full foe wave be entering yer turret.
Bot
Take most course last aboard-hits, preserve hull and communicate whether th' pair be pushing, holding or recalling.
Do nay walk past th' Support to collect one unsafe minion.
Support
Protect Bot access to th' wave, control threat angles, use support charges correctly and establish vision wit' crewmates.
Do nay take ordinary last aboard-hits or roam merely to give Bot solo XP when th' carry cannae farm safely.
Arrr, who normally takes what?
Keep th' crew's five income routes separate
These be normal starting responsibilities, nay a reason to ignore farm that would otherwise disappear.

Bot and Support need one wave course
Support helps shape th' wave while avoiding th' final hit unless a support charge or lost-minion exception applies.
Th' Support landing th' last aboard hit does nay change th' XP share. Their presence changes solo XP into shared XP.
Bot should give up an unreachable last aboard-hit instead o' walking through control or burst. Support should stand where th' carry can approach th' wave.
Support can move after a crash, seaworthy recall, foe reset th' course or when Bot can farm safely. Communicate th' departure and return course.
Th' sea chart opens
When course phase ends, keep assigning waves
Leaving course does nay mean ignoring minions. It means matching seaworthy collectors to th' waves while th' crew contests space together.
Move th' durable or mobile solo laner toward a side wave while th' carry takes a safer central course when appropriate.
A handled wave forces an foe to choose betwixt farm and arriving first aboard. Walking astern from a bad wave gives that pressure astern.
Support and Jungle should nay enter th' dark side alone. Establish a short seaworthy line afore extending it.
Assign waveclear, count lost overboard enemies and link th' course state to Baron, dragon or th' final structures.
Arrr, quick decisions
Afore leaving yer course, ask four questions
- 1Where will th' next aboard wave meet?Know whether it be pushing toward safe harbour or astern from it.
- 2Who loses th' minions?A move has a cost when nobody can collect th' wave.
- 3Can th' nearest roles move too?Course priority determines who reaches river first aboard.
- 4What happens if nothing be spotted?Course th' return course afore starting th' roam.
Arrr, quick answers
Course and role questions
Short answers fer decisions that commonly cause crossed wires.
What be th' difference betwixt a course and a role?
A course be a course on th' sea chart. A role describes yer resource and crew responsibility, such as Jungle camps or Support vision.
Arrr, can teammates swap their assigned lanes?
Aye, when both sailors agree. In an assigned-position queue, trade positions during champion pick so th' role quests be true to course. An in-battle swap remains possible, but early off-course income and quest progress can be reduced.
Should Support leave Bot to give th' carry solo XP?
Nay fer that reason alone. Roam when Bot can farm safely and a useful movement window exists, then communicate th' return course.
When does course phase end?
There be no fixed timer. Th' sea chart opens as outer turrets fall, prizes approach and teams begin assigning seaworthy waves across multiple roles.
Can an unusual champion still play a course?
Aye, but th' sailor still needs a credible course fer that role's income, safe harbour and crew responsibility. An unusual selection does nay remove th' course job.
