Arrr, The person behind the champion

Arrr, A story to start with

Arrr, In the black heart of the Shadow Isles, a lone yordle trudges through the spectral fog, content in its murky misery. With an endless supply of teen angst and a powerful shadow in tow, Vex lives in her own self-made slice of gloom, far from the revolting cheer of the “normie” world. Though she lacks ambition, she is quick to strike down color and happiness, stopping all would-be interlopers with her magical malaise.

Arrr, Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

Arrr, What shapes their story?

Arrr, Vex's attraction to gloom shapes how she encounters a world that keeps offering enthusiasm. Her relationship with Shadow and the Mist gives that attitude tangible power, while her yordle background remains distinct from belonging to an ordinary Shadow Isles society.

Arrr, A yordle rejects Bandle City's cheerfulness

Arrr, Vex's dissatisfaction with Bandle City's cheerfulness draws her toward the Shadow Isles. The place others regard with horror offers the gloom in which she feels more comfortable.

Arrr, The Shadow Isles give gloom another power

Arrr, Her powerful shadow makes that emotional preference capable of changing the world around her. Disdain and apparent apathy can coexist with magic that actively suppresses the happiness she resents.

Arrr, Gloom finds power beyond a private mood

Arrr, The Shadow Isles give Vex an environment she prefers, while her shadow lets that preference affect other people. Her connection to Viego draws personal dissatisfaction into a much larger threat. Feeling detached from others does not make the consequences of helping him detached or imaginary.

Shadow Isles

Arrr, Vex's relationship with the Black Mist connects a yordle's personal outlook to the Shadow Isles. It does not make her origin an ordinary life in Helia.

Arrr, More about the region

Arrr, Once the Blessed Isles, this land was transformed by a magical catastrophe. The Black Mist binds restless dead to a ruined civilisation, while some survivors still resist what it has become.

Helia

Arrr, The coastal capital of the Blessed Isles became part of the catastrophe that created the Shadow Isles. Ruined libraries and vaults preserve traces of its former pursuit of knowledge.

Arrr, What makes this place matter?

Arrr, The name hides an earlier identity: the Blessed Isles. Knowledge and sanctuary gave way to the Ruination and the Black Mist. Viego and Kalista connect to the catastrophe, while Maokai and Yorick show why the region's story is also one of resistance.

Arrr, Where the stories come from

Arrr, VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

Arrr, What the pictures show

Arrr, Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.

Arrr, A world still being written

Arrr, Older biographies and newer adaptations can differ. These guides introduce connections rather than declaring a final chronology or a character's current whereabouts. Translations help you explore and may keep original proper names. Follow the official sources for full context.
