A relevant invitation, shared once
Ask whether the player wants the link, identify the destination, use the real domain and accept “no” without arguing or repeating it.
Links, invites and conversation
Use League chat to coordinate, invite or stay in touch. Explain where a genuine link leads, share it once and leave the choice with the other player.
A real link can still become spam. Repeated advertising, deception and requests for account details cross a different line.
Short answer
Ask whether the player wants the link, identify the destination, use the real domain and accept “no” without arguing or repeating it.
Posting the same server, stream or group repeatedly can disrupt chat and resemble spam, even when the destination itself is legitimate.
Do not disguise a destination, promise fake rewards, impersonate Riot or ask anyone for a password, recovery code, email access or payment details.
Choose the right place
Riot states that party chat follows the same conduct rules as ally, all, champion-select and post-game chat.
Best for asking whether friends or invited teammates want a community or voice link.
Relevant social contextBetter than interrupting a match. Confirm the person and explain the destination before sending.
Direct and optionalKeep it focused on the match. Save recruitment and external links for after play unless somebody explicitly asks.
Coordination firstA brief invitation can fit after a positive game. One message is enough; do not chase or pressure players.
Ask, then leave spaceReady-to-edit examples
Replace the bracketed text. These examples reduce ambiguity; they do not guarantee that every context is appropriate.
Good game. Would you like an invite to our independent League group? It is optional: [full invite URL]
Voice is optional. If you want to join us, this is the full invite link: [full invite URL]
Would you like the group invite? No problem if not.
Before opening a link
Shortened or lookalike addresses hide where the browser will actually go.
Open Riot’s official site separately when an account action is required.
A community organiser, teammate or alleged Riot employee does not need them.
Free RP, guaranteed skins, boosting and urgent account warnings are common pressure tactics.
Do not continue an argument merely to collect more evidence.
Clear answers
Riot’s published Terms do not describe every external link as an automatic violation. They do prohibit disruptive repeated spam, scams and social engineering. Share a legitimate invite once, in an appropriate social context, and stop if people are not interested.
Riot says party chat follows the same conduct rules as other League chat channels, including ally, all, champion-select and post-game chat.
Treat unknown and shortened links cautiously. Riot says external sites are used at your own risk. Never enter Riot credentials, recovery codes or payment information after following an unsolicited link.
Repeated unsolicited promotion can disrupt conversation and resemble spam. Ask first, share once where relevant, and use established community or looking-for-group spaces for ongoing recruitment.

Honor 1 retains team and party chat. Champion-select and post-game chat become available at Honor 2; all chat requires Honor 3. Active penalties and your own settings can still limit chat.
