Behind the name
Ornn's forge joins volcanic landscape to the patient work of creation. The Hearthblood and their fate give that setting an emotional history beyond the objects he makes. His relationship with Volibear places craftsmanship and destruction in conflict without making every Freljordian legend a dated historical record.
Part of a larger world
The landscape holds several layers of history: tribal survival, the legends of demigods and the secret of the Watchers beneath the ice. Ashe, Sejuani and Lissandra represent competing futures, while Ornn, Anivia and Volibear connect the region to older powers.
