Riot Games · World artworkBegin at the lowest inhabited levels
The Sump introduces the harshest industrial conditions within Zaun's vertical city. It is a lived-in environment, not simply an empty hazardous zone beneath the action.

Zaun · Lower city
Zaun's deepest inhabited level is associated with its harshest industrial conditions. Riot's gallery contrasts life here with the markets and institutions higher in the city.

Behind the name
The lowest inhabited reaches make Zaun's industrial inequalities especially visible. Environmental danger affects daily life rather than existing only as a dramatic background. Stories of inhabitants, experiments and protection offer different perspectives, but a broad undercity connection should not automatically be read as a named event on one street.
Part of a larger world
Zaun is a lived-in home as well as an industrial undercity. Its different levels separate workshops, markets and dangerous depths. Ekko and Zeri's community ties offer a different view from the chem-barons and experiments that dominate many outsiders' impressions.

These connections include origins, pivotal events and the wider culture of the setting. They do not confirm a character's current location.
BlitzcrankHow their story connects
Blitzcrank's independent care redirects a machine built for hazardous work toward protecting Zaun's people. Self-modification supports that choice. Their value no longer depends on the original assignment or an owner's recognition, but on the lives they decide to make safer.
TwitchHow their story connects
Twitch's short overview describes a mutated rat building among Zaun's refuse and plotting against the people above. The chem-powered crossbow makes that resentment tangible. The source establishes a threatening way of life, but not a full childhood, named allies or a dated history of attacks.
ZacHow their story connects
Care from the people who recognised Zac's awareness gives his unusual origin a different future. His later protection of Zaun continues that kindness through an adaptable body. The Sump's danger explains where he came from, but does not decide what a being made there must become.

The upper reaches of Zaun include markets and institutions. The Promenade helps explain why the undercity has distinct neighbourhoods and social worlds rather than one uniform landscape.
