The person behind the champion

A story to start with

In Noxus, warriors known as Reckoners face one another in arenas where blood is spilled and strength tested—but none has ever been as celebrated as Draven. A former soldier, he found that the crowds uniquely appreciated his flair for the dramatic, and his unparalleled skill with his spinning axes. Addicted to the spectacle of his own brash perfection, Draven has sworn to defeat whomever he must to ensure that his name is chanted throughout the empire forever more.

What shapes their story?

An audience gives Draven the recognition that ordinary service cannot satisfy. His relationship with Darius highlights the difference between power exercised for an imperial purpose and skill repeatedly turned into a public demand for personal admiration.

Applause becomes its own demand
Draven turns an execution into a performance in which attention is part of the prize. His brother's authority gives their family another kind of prominence, but military achievement cannot satisfy an appetite for the crowd. Each spectacle must prove that he deserves the next cheer.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
