The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Jericho Swain is the visionary ruler of Noxus, an expansionist nation that reveres only strength. Though he was cast down and crippled in the Ionian wars, his left arm severed, he seized control of the empire with ruthless determination… and a new, demonic hand. Now, Swain commands from the front lines, marching against a coming darkness that only he can see—in glimpses gathered by shadowy ravens from the corpses all around him. In a swirl of sacrifice and secrets, the greatest secret of all is that the true enemy lies within.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Surviving defeat changes the means through which Swain understands power. The demon's knowledge strengthens a political vision that presents itself as service to Noxus, leaving the reader to consider how protection, surveillance and ambition reinforce one another.

Demonic power supports a return to authority

Command of a demon and its secrets helped him seize authority. Knowing hidden things becomes both an advantage and a burden when the threats he sees are not limited to the next military rival.

Secrets reveal a larger threat than the next rival

Leading Noxus gives Swain armies, but his demonic knowledge directs attention toward dangers military expansion alone cannot solve. The Black Rose remains a competing hidden power. His vision for the empire rests on deciding what those secrets demand, rather than assuming that knowing them guarantees control.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.

A world still being written

Older biographies and newer adaptations can differ. These guides introduce connections rather than declaring a final chronology or a character's current whereabouts. Translations help you explore and may keep original proper names. Follow the official sources for full context.
