The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Rumble is a young inventor with a temper. Using nothing more than his own two hands and a heap of scrap, the feisty yordle constructed a colossal mech suit outfitted with an arsenal of electrified harpoons and incendiary rockets. Though others may scoff and sneer at his junkyard creations, Rumble doesn't mind—after all, he's the one with the flamespitter.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Building something formidable gives Rumble an answer to being underestimated. His pride in yordle ingenuity also makes recognition politically charged, because admiration from the wrong institutions can feel like accepting the terms of an unequal relationship.

An inventor learns through discarded machinery
Rumble's talent grew from improvising with discarded machinery rather than receiving universal recognition. Being underestimated helped shape both his resourcefulness and his quick temper.

A mech makes dismissal difficult
Building a heavily armed mech let him answer dismissal with something nobody could ignore. The scrap-built appearance matters less to him than whether the creation proves what he can do.

A machine built from being underestimated
Rumble's mech makes his engineering impossible to dismiss, even when its materials look unpromising. Pride and resentment travel with that achievement. His wish to prove himself exposes the difference between being capable of extraordinary invention and being satisfied that others have finally recognised it.

The story beneath the scenery

What makes this place matter?

Bandle City belongs to the spirit realm, so its routes cannot be read like ordinary roads. Yordles also make lives across Runeterra. A champion's connection to this home does not mean every part of their biography takes place here.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
