Arrr, The person behind the champion

Arrr, A story to start with

Arrr, A failed experiment by the Black Rose, Briar's uncontrollable bloodlust required a special pillory to focus her frenzied mind. After years of confinement, this living weapon broke free from her restraints and unleashed herself into the world. Now she's controlled by no one—following only her hunger for knowledge and blood—and relishes the opportunities to let loose, even if reining back the frenzy isn't easy.

Arrr, Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

Arrr, What shapes their story?

Arrr, Being released from control leaves Briar with decisions her creators never prepared her to make. Hunger, friendship and the pillory turn freedom into an ongoing practice of judgement rather than a guarantee that captivity's consequences have disappeared.

Arrr, A living weapon created by the Black Rose

Arrr, The Black Rose created Briar as a blood-fuelled weapon, but her hunger made her difficult to control. A restrictive pillory was intended to give her mind enough focus to function.

Arrr, A prisoner's escape and a choice of restraint

Arrr, Captivity became an education in the world outside her cell. Her escape gave her choices, including when to keep the restraint that her creators had once imposed on her.

Arrr, Learning what a choice feels like

Arrr, Outside captivity, Briar must learn ordinary relationships while managing a hunger her makers never made harmless. Keeping or releasing the pillory becomes part of her own judgement. Freedom is therefore a continuing practice, rather than a single door opening in a prison.

Arrr, What makes this place matter?

Arrr, Noxus measures strength through more than brute force, but its promise of opportunity sits alongside conquest and ruthless competition. Swain's leadership, Darius's military loyalty and the Black Rose's secret influence show why the empire has several competing visions of power.

Arrr, Where the stories come from

Arrr, VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

Arrr, What the pictures show

Arrr, Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
