Arrr, The person behind the champion

Arrr, A story to start with

Arrr, A war hero from a bygone era, Sion was revered in Noxus for choking the life out of a Demacian king with his bare hands—but, denied oblivion, he was resurrected to serve his empire even in death. His indiscriminate slaughter claimed all who stood in his way, regardless of allegiance, proving he no longer retained his former humanity. Even so, with crude armor bolted onto rotten flesh, Sion continues to charge into battle with reckless abandon, struggling to remember his true self between the swings of his mighty axe.

Arrr, Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

Arrr, What shapes their story?

Arrr, Resurrection keeps Sion useful to an empire while damaging the continuity of the person who once served it. The repeated demand for violence makes continued existence an instrument of state power rather than a simple reward for old loyalty.

Arrr, A mortal champion of Noxian strength

Arrr, Sion's mortal reputation gave Noxus a celebrated symbol of battlefield strength. Resurrection turned that reputation into a resource the empire could continue using after the warrior himself had died.

Arrr, Resurrection recovers force without reliable loyalty

Arrr, The revived body retains devastating force without reliably preserving the loyalties or humanity that once directed it. The same charge can kill allies and enemies alike.

  3. The Trifarian LegionArrr, Riot Games · Regional world artwork

Arrr, A symbol the empire cannot fully command

Arrr, Noxus can resurrect Sion's strength without reliably restoring the person whose deeds it celebrates. His violence therefore threatens the soldiers beside him as well as those facing him. Turning a dead hero into a weapon exposes the cost of treating national memory as another military resource.

Arrr, Sion's resurrection returns an older symbol of Noxian strength to an empire ruled by Swain. The ruler can use that force without having restored a controllable or fully human soldier.

Arrr, What makes this place matter?

Arrr, Noxus measures strength through more than brute force, but its promise of opportunity sits alongside conquest and ruthless competition. Swain's leadership, Darius's military loyalty and the Black Rose's secret influence show why the empire has several competing visions of power.

Arrr, Where the stories come from

Arrr, VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

Arrr, What the pictures show

Arrr, Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
