YOUR VOIDROOM ACCOUNT & WEBSITE
Inside VoidRoom's next major update
A major update is taking shape across VoidRoom: multiplayer reliability, VR comfort, the Maker Pen, avatars, player profiles and the places you explore together. It is a substantial, coordinated piece of work, and we want to give you a clearer look at it.
In development - no new game build

THE DETAILS
What changed.
- This is a development update. The full game update is still being tested; this post does not announce a new Quest or Windows build.
- Already live: the website and your player profile — The VoidRoom website has a refreshed look, clearer room links and more useful player pages. The community feed, profiles and room-management pages are being brought together around the same VoidRoom theme. Meta-only accounts are now clearly identified on the website. We have also restored missing VoidRoom avatar pictures for linked players whose saved avatars were available. The directory respects hidden-profile settings, and staff access to hidden profiles requires the appropriate staff permission and verification. We are finishing the in-game visibility controls for Meta-only players. There is also a service improvement to clean up abandoned, empty room listings. An old session should not keep appearing as somewhere you can join after it has ended.
- Multiplayer: reliability comes first — We are continuing work on staying connected, changing rooms and recovering when a session ends. Quest disconnects, including reports around voice starting, remain a testing priority. We are checking these alongside movement, joining and leaving, rather than treating one successful connection as a complete multiplayer test. Our aim is a clearer recovery screen and a dependable way back into a room if something goes wrong. We will keep testing the Windows and Quest paths together before calling this work finished.
- VR: more comfortable and easier to use — Work in progress includes clearer menus, better controller pointers and button highlighting, a guided first-time setup, hand preferences and seated-play settings. We are also working on avatar alignment, hand orientation and keeping your own nameplate out of your headset view. The intention is to make the first few minutes much simpler: choose the settings that suit you, see what you are pointing at and get into a room with less confusion.
- Maker Pen: clearer tools and better building — The Maker Pen is getting focused attention. We are working on simpler categories, clearer placement modes, more predictable snapping, separate paint-selection behaviour and easier access to object and circuit settings. Circuit work includes more readable cards, clearer connection points, better wires, consistent press and toggle buttons, and visible trigger-volume editing. Permissions remain part of the design, so editing controls are shown to the people who should be able to use them.
- Avatars, movement and presentation — We are improving the original VoidRoom avatar, hands, accessories and their fit. Desktop hand controls and held-item behaviour are also part of this work. Movement testing includes crouching, prone poses, sliding, jumping and camera behaviour around low obstacles. These changes still need to pass their checks before release.
- The official rooms — Clubhouse, Paintball and the training spaces are being reworked, with attention to layout, useful areas, atmosphere, sound and performance. The new room candidates are still under review. They have not replaced the public maps yet.
- Meet Patch — Patch is our official VoidRoom guide and creator persona. You will see more of him around the website and official room pages as his look and presentation develop. Preview artwork represents work in progress.
- What happens next? — We are fixing the remaining issues, checking the changes together and preparing the next game build. There is no release date to announce yet. We will post the actual build number and release notes when it is ready, and clearly say when new maps are available. Follow development and the changelog at https://vrc.lol/voidroom/updates. If you hit a problem, please include your game version, headset or PC, the room and what happened just before it. Reports about disconnects, voice, controls and building are especially useful right now. Thank you for helping shape VoidRoom. Make room for your people.
