The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Innately connected to the magic of the spirit realm, Ahri is a fox-like vastaya who can manipulate her prey's emotions and consume their essence—receiving flashes of their memory and insight from each soul she consumes. Once a powerful yet wayward predator, Ahri is now traveling the world in search of remnants of her ancestors while also trying to replace her stolen memories with ones of her own making.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Remembered lives complicate Ahri's search for her own past. Empathy and appetite draw on the same gift, so discovering her ancestry is also a question about the kind of memories she chooses to create next.

Emotion, essence and borrowed memories
Ahri's gifts connect emotion, memory and survival. Consuming essence gives her fragments of other lives, making her relationship with those memories an essential part of her identity.

The search for an ancestry
Her journey moves beyond life as a predator toward discovering the remnants of her ancestry. Memories can help her learn, but they also complicate the distinction between what she has taken and what she has lived.

Choosing memories of her own
Learning about her ancestry does not erase the lives and emotions Ahri has consumed. Her journey becomes a search for a way to live with others without reducing them to sustenance, while deciding which memories and choices will belong to her.

More about the region

The First Lands form an archipelago where the material and spirit realms meet closely. Invasion has divided its people over whether to restore old traditions or turn their magic toward resistance.

Archipelago

First Lands

Another name for Ionia's many provinces and islands. Forests, monasteries and communities share a landscape shaped by living magic and the consequences of the Noxian invasion.

What makes this place matter?

Ionia's spiritual balance is not a single shared answer. The Noxian invasion forces champions to disagree about tradition, resistance and revenge. The Placidium offers a starting point for Irelia's resistance; the Kinkou opens a different path through Shen and Akali's stories.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
