The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Armed with the power of Runeterra's gales, Janna is a mysterious, elemental wind spirit who protects the dispossessed of Zaun. Some believe she was brought into existence by the pleas of Runeterra's sailors who prayed for fair winds as they navigated treacherous waters and braved rough tempests. Her favor and protection has since been called into the depths of Zaun, where Janna has become a beacon of hope to those in need. No one knows where or when she will appear, but more often than not, she's come to help.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Faith links Janna's power with people whose needs formal authority has not met. The protective wind belongs to Zaun's lived hardships, so remembering the spirit is also a way communities imagine care beyond the institutions above them.

A spirit becomes hope in Zaun's depths

The movement from open waters to the depths of an industrial city changes the setting of that protection. Air itself takes on special meaning where pollution and dangerous conditions burden everyday life.

Hope survives where the air is hardest to breathe

Zaun's people preserve Janna through stories and prayers amid industrial danger. That devotion connects a wind spirit to daily needs for breath, shelter and protection. It does not make every reported intervention a dated event, or reduce the older maritime traditions to a single verified origin.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.
