The person behind the champion

A story to start with

Nasus is an imposing, jackal-headed Ascended being from ancient Shurima, a heroic figure regarded as a demigod by the people of the desert. Fiercely intelligent, he was a guardian of knowledge and peerless strategist whose wisdom guided the ancient empire of Shurima to greatness for many centuries. After the fall of the empire, he went into self-imposed exile, becoming little more than a legend. Now that the ancient city of Shurima has risen once more, he has returned, determined to ensure it never falls again.

Short biography by Riot Games · Data Dragon 16.20.1

What shapes their story?

Scholarship and military authority once served an empire that no longer exists unchanged. Nasus's loss of Renekton makes that broken history personal, giving renewed imperial ambition a burden of memory that monuments alone cannot repair.

A scholar and strategist of ancient Shurima

Nasus served ancient Shurima as a scholar and strategist before becoming one of its Ascended. Knowledge and judgement were central to his authority, not secondary qualities behind a powerful body.

The empire's fall becomes a long exile

The empire's collapse drove him into exile and left his achievements within legend. Shurima's return forces him to face that lost history as an unfinished responsibility rather than a closed age.

An ancient responsibility becomes immediate again

Azir's return and Renekton's escape make the lost empire more than a scholar's memory. Nasus must confront the brother he failed to recover and the powers that destroyed their world. Knowledge remains useful, but cannot by itself undo captivity, resentment or the empire's collapse.

Where the stories come from

VRC.LOL writes the introductions, reading notes and connections using linked Riot Universe biographies and regional guides. Short champion summaries use Data Dragon version 16.20.1. Longer histories link to the official story used; some champions currently have a shorter official overview.

What the pictures show

Artwork belongs to Riot Games. Scenery comes from Riot's Runeterra world map; champion art depicts the character. A regional illustration sets the scene when a landmark has no dedicated image. It does not show a confirmed event at that exact place.

A world still being written

Older biographies and newer adaptations can differ. These guides introduce connections rather than declaring a final chronology or a character's current whereabouts. Translations help you explore and may keep original proper names. Follow the official sources for full context.
